Milan Linate Airport
Of the three main airports in and around Milan, Milan Linate is the closest to the city. It is located only 8kms from the city and driving in your hire car, it only takes about 10 minutes. The full name of the airport is Enrico Forlanini Airport but it is more commonly referred to as Linate as this is the closest village to the airport. Because of its locations and proximity to the city, flights in and out of Linate tend to me a little more expenisve than the other two airports; Milan Bergamo and Milan Malpensa. Particularly when you compare it is Milan Bergamo which is increasingly more popular with low cost airlines. Flying to Linate is all about speed and convenience accessing the city, so you can compare cost and time and pick the airport that suits you best.

Getting there & Away
If you are looking to visit just Milan city, the best way to get there is to travel by taxi or by bus. From the airport there is the Urban Line 73 and the X73 which start about 5.30am run every 10 minutes until midnight at cost €1.50 each way. You can get a taxi from in front of the arrivals areas but shop around for prices as the ones that I researched showed a big difference in price, varying from as little as €25 in place while more of them were up to €50. Maybe a metered taxi would be the best choice, depending on how far across the city you need to go and on traffic, they can be a little as €20. If you are looking at seeing more of the area than just Milan city, then we recommend that you get a hire car and then you can go where you want and see what you want at your own pace.
