Lisbon is a lively city with a strong sense of history. For the older side of Lisbon visit the historic centre of the city, check out Belem’s Jeronimos Monastery, the Belem Tower and the Maritime Museum. For a really interesting day, go to the Ocenario de Lisboa where you will find the second largest aquarium in the world. For a taste of traditional Lisbon music called “Fado”, go to the Alfama district and listen in a bar or have a meal there to really experience it. Outside of Lisbon there is quite a lot to do, a few miles away you will find the beach area of Cascais which is cosmopolitan and upmarket and referred to as the Miami of Portugal. Cascais has beaches, parties, casinos, restaurants, cafes and bars. For day trips from Lisbon or from Cascais why not have a picnic and visit some animals at the Parque do Marechal Carmona or go to Boca do Inferno for amazing views of the Atlantic. The most Western point of Europe is at Cabo da Roca in the Sinistra-Cascais Natural Park.
