Welcome to the Car Booker car Hire support and advice hub

Hiring a car should be, like most transactions, straight forwards, but as with many things, there are a number of elements that need to be considered, so it is important that you know what you are booking before you actually book. You don’t want any nasty surprises, you want to know what you are paying for. Call it the fine print, or the details or the terms and conditions, whatever term you use, it all means the same thing, you want to have all the details of your car hire clarified and explained. So what is important in the terms and conditions when hiring a car? Some of the more common policies or conditions that cause confusion for people are Fuel policies and Mileage policies and Additional Driver policies.

Always check the fuel policy on your booking, with Car Booker is very clearly marked on the comparison page so that you know exactly what you are choosing. “Pick up Full, Return Full” is considered the best value. You find more details in our fuel policy explain video or in the Car Booker Blog article which  explains which is the best fuel policy for you. With regard to mileage, most car hire bookings come with unlimited millage as standard, however, there are instances where this is not the case, so if you are planning on doing any kind of serious driving, be sure that you are covered by your mileage policy. When you want an additional driver added to a car hire booking, you will find that some car hire companies add a daily base cost for the driver, others may charge a fee; no matter what or how they charge for it, the additional driver(s) will be required to be present their license at the car hire desk. Generally speaking you need to inform the hire car company if there are going to be other people driving the car.

Always check your car hire voucher and conditions to ensure your car hire booking isn´t going to present you with any unexpected charges. Policies and terms of service vary depending on your chosen car hire supplier so make life easy and spend a few moments reading yours. You will see the benefits at the hire desk with a hassle free pick up.
