John F. Kennedy International Airport
is located in Queens, New York which is about 19kms south east of Manhattan. It is the main airport for New York City and connects passengers travelling to and from New York and every other major city in the world. It is the busiest airport for international passengers in the United States. The airport has seven operating terminals and services over 70 airlines. Knowing where you are going within the airport is a good idea with all the terminals and gates. To make it easier to navigate, JFK has a Central Terminal Area (CTA) which has a one mile circular roadway. All terminals are located in a semi-circle around this Central Terminal Area.

Getting there & Away
From international flights, you will come off your plane straight into the concourse at your gate. A walk or an AirTrain ride will take you to security. Once you clear security you will go down to baggage reclaim and out into the arrivals hall. Travel between terminals and to the subway stop is free. The AirTrain travels between New York City and JFK and costs $5 and takes 35 minutes. Commuters travelling to Manhattan will pay $2.25 more to access the NYC Subway. Shuttle buses run every 30 minutes from 6am to 10pm and stop at La Guardia, Newark and Terminal 42nd Street, costs between $11-21. Taxi fares are set at $45 plus tolls plus tips, which is usually about $65 total (15% tip).
