The Amalfi Coast, Italy
Amalfi is situated on the Sorrentine Peninsula; this Mediterranean coastline is rich in history of pirates, sea legends and a famous trading port in times gone by. The only land route to the Amalfi coast is the Strada Stale 163 going from Maiori to Postiano, taking in Salerno, Ravello, Amalfi, Duomo di Sant’Andrea, Calle dei Nulini and Praiano on the way. Getting there is easy; hire a car in Naples and travel to the coast soaking up the scenery en route.
The Great Atlantic Road, Norway
Drive on the open road, taking in all the sites from Bergen to Trondheim with its beautiful mountains, lakes, waterfalls and fjords. You can also drive through the longest road tunnel in the world and of course, the amazing Atlantic Road.. Drive over the Atlantic on a road built from island to island! Summer road trip is recommended. The easiest way to do this is to fly to Bergen, rent a car, do the road trip and fly back home from Trondheim.
The Antrim Coast, Northern Ireland
A road trip that includes the Giant’s Causeway, Carrick-a- Rede rope bridge, and the amazing coast of Northern Ireland as well as a stop off to visit the Bushmills Distillery. To experience this adventure, start in Carrickfergus and drive North West on the A2 coast road. A large section of the road is winding through the countryside, following the scenic coastline. Some parts are even built between large 100m high cliffs and the sea. Get your hire car in advance in Dublin or Belfast or any other larger town.
Your magical journey starts in Avignon, and goes east through L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Roussillon, and Moustiers-Ste-Marie, then circles back west through Les Baux-de-Provence to Avignon again. From Roussillon, there is an amazing 100km journey along narrow corkscrew mountain roads with breath taking views to Moustiers-Ste-Marie. Coming from Paris, take the TGV (book in advance) to be in Provence by noon. Rent your car in Avignon and enjoy your trip.
The German Alpenstrasse
On the German Alpenstrasse prepare for 450km of an exhilarating ride! This road is full of twists and turns running between Lindau and Berchtesgaden. Enjoy varied and beautiful scenery of Alpine mountains, lakes and meadows, magnificent castles perched on seemingly impossible to access on mountain sides! With wide roads and generous speed limits courtesy of these well built German roads; all combining to make this a super fun road trip.
