This week´s airport of the week is on the busiest airports in the world, Atlanta airport. It is officially known as Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The airport handles more than quarter of a million passengers per day.
Obviously with an airport that deals with this many people per day, it is a BIG airport!! There are two terminals; a domestic terminal and then there is the Maynard H Jackson International terminal. To move between terminals you need to use the Plane Train which is an underground people mover. For shorter journeys around the airport there are walkways and travelators.
Given the volume of people going through Atlanta airport, there is a lot of transport options to and from the airport included Taxis, Shuttles, Charter buses, public buses and car rental. Everything is colour coded and this will guide you to the zone for your chosen public transport pick up point. Click here to see the zones.
Using a rental car is a great way to explore Atlanta whether you are going there for business or pleasure. It would be worth checking out the World of Coca Cola, the Georgia Acquarium, Martin Luther King´s home, take in a baseball and shout on the Braves or drive out to Stone Mountain Park.
To ensure you are not stuck in a huge queues trying to organize an airport car rental when you arrive, Car Booker recommends you always have your Atlanta airport rental car booked in advance; and always give yourself plenty of time to drop back your car to the drop off location (see your voucher for details).
